
Several schools and houses have been destroyed following a recent attack by terrorists of the Biko Haram group in communities in Adamawa State.
It was gathered that the insurgents invaded Kwapre and other surrounding villages in the New Yadul District of Hong LGA in an overnight attack.
Sources within the villages said the attack by the terrorists started at about 7.30 pm on Tuesday, February 25, and lasted past midnight.
According to residents schools, worship places, people’s shops and other businesses were set on fire.
The residents also said that property worth millions was destroyed in the attack while some others were looted by the invaders.
According to the village head of Kwapre, Joel Kulaha and the village head of King, Abalid Jawaja, the insurgents launched the attack in the villages and chartered away valuables.
They, however, said no lives were lost in the attack.
Kulaha said, “We escaped with our lives, but everything we own is gone.”
The residents also added that military forces close by responded to the insurgents’ attack and engaged them in a gun battle.
