BREAKING: Burnaboy makes history with jaw-dropping performance as the first ever Afro-beats Act at the Grammys 2024 (Video)

Burnaboy has always been an avid performer, and he took his A-game to the Grammys 2024 stage, where he delivered the first ever Afro-beats performance at the Grammys. He was later joined on stage by singer Brandy and rapper 21 Savage, and they performed Burnaboy’s hit song ‘Sittin on top of the world’

Burnaboy’s performance has made a huge impact for Nigerian music and African music in general because it has put the spotlight on Afro-beats on a global stage, while making history at the same time.

Despite the fact that Burnaboy lost all four of his nominations at the Grammys 2024, his breakthrough as the first ever Afro-beat act to perform on the Grammys stage submerged his loss because it is a huge milestone.

It is also noteworthy to remember that Burnaboy has a Grammy award hanging on his shelf for Global Music Album in the year 2021, for his album Twice as Tall. This made way for Burnaboy to make it to list of Nigerian Grammy award winners after King Sunny Ade.

Burnaboy has continuously made a huge impact in the Nigerian music industry by projecting his songs unto the global stage. He has gained huge recognition globally, with sold out shows in different countries back-to-back. Despite his fame and achievements, Burnaboy has never slowed down his music career, and one may argue that he even ‘hustles’ like an upcoming artist.
