
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has appointed 16 new directors to key departments within the institution.
Sources indicate that the bank’s board has given approval for the appointments, which will see different professionals take on leadership roles in various units.
The appointments took effect on Monday, March 3.
Among those expected to assume new positions is Abdullahi Hamisu, who will oversee the Banking Services Department.
Ojomu Adenike Olubunmi has been assigned to lead the Medical Services Department, while Makinde Kayode Olanrewaju will be in charge of the Procurement and Support Services Department.
Jide Samuel Omoyemen Avbasowamen has been chosen to head the Information Technology Department.
Other appointments include Sike Rita Ijeoma, who will take charge of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department.
Isa-Olatinwo Aisha is expected to manage the Consumer Protection Department, and Oboh Victor Ugbem will lead the Monetary Policy Department.
Nakorji Musa has been designated as the director of the Trade and Exchange Department, while Yusuf Rakiya Opemi will oversee the Payments System Supervision Department.
Vincent Monsurat Modesola is set to lead the Strategy Management and Innovation Department, and Farouk Mujtaba Muhammad will take charge of the Reserve Management Department.
The Banking Supervision Department will be led by Akinwumi Olubukola Akanniyi. Adedeji Adetona Sikiru has been assigned to the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department, while Hassan Ibrahim Umar will head the Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department.
Solaja Mohammed Jamiu Olayemi has been selected for the Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department, and Okpanachi Usman Moses will take charge of the Statistics Department.
The appointments are expected to strengthen leadership across these departments as the CBN continues to manage Nigeria’s financial system.
