Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christian faithful, urging the people of Enugu State and all Nigerians to embrace love, peace, and unity as they celebrate the birth of Christ, which he describes as the true essence of Christmas.
In his Christmas message delivered on Tuesday, Mbah emphasized the crucial role of peaceful coexistence in nation-building.
He acknowledged the socio-economic challenges currently facing the country and encouraged the residents of Enugu and all Nigerians to reach out with love and kindness to one another, especially to those in need, assuring that government policies will ultimately provide the much-needed support and economic recovery.
“The message of Christmas is relevant to every moment, reminding us to extend love and empathy to all.
“As Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, may the joy of Christmas illuminate our lives and our beloved nation.
“When we embrace the true message of Christmas—love, peace, and unity—we will discover a common thread of humanity instead of division.
“Christmas, being a year-end festivity, is a perfect time to recommit ourselves to the virtues of peace, patriotism, and love.
“I pray that the joy of Christmas brings comfort to those who grieve and serves as a guiding light for our nation,” he stated.
He wished all Nigerians a joyous and seamless Christmas celebration.
