BREAKING: Community honours late NewsDirect publisher, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi with award of recognition

A community, Ifesowapo Ona-Ara, Abimbola in Ado odo, ota local government area, Ogun State has today honored Prince (Dr) Samuel Ibiyemi with posthumous Award of recognition for his selfless contribution to the community at large.

The award which took place at the community during the commissioning of their Security building and main gate over the weekend.

Speaking during the award ceremony, the Chairman of the community, Mr Sunday Adekanbi said that “Dr Samuel Ibiyemi has done wonderfully well in the community and that is why the community has gathered together to appreciate his efforts during his life time”

He said, “Ibiyemi as done well and we will continue to remember him, before Senator Yayi came to construct Gasline-Esu yago road, he has been the one grading the road every year to make sure the road is motorable for all of us in our community and for other communities.

“For over 20years, he has been a lover and supporter of our great community, today we have not just gathered here to commission alone but to also to dedicate the building in his memory of our late brother, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi and also to register this road after his name

We appreciate him and we pray that God will continue to be with him and the family he has left behind. He said

Also speaking during the presentation of award ceremony, the coordinator of Ijoko zone 4, Prophet Sam Ajimo said it’s good to be known for good things.

Ajimo added that Dr Samuel Ibiyemi has been a wonderful friend that have served, helped his community well, this award is not just an award of free, he worked for it, we will all continue to remember his work

He didn’t do all this because of himself but for the betterment of the community which we all benefitted from, he is a good man. He said

Speaking while receiving the award on behalf of his family, his wonderful wife, Chief Supretendent of Police (CSP), Mrs Annette Ibiyemi appreciated the community for the love at heart to recognize her late husband for his selfless contribution to the community at large.

She said ” though Dr Samuel Ibiyemi is late but his good will never stop, we will continue to support our community because that is the legacy he has left behind”

We want to thank you all for this wonderful award and also to continue the legacy of my darling husband, we donated the sum of N50,000 to be use for the progress of the community, she said.

Also, a member of the community and representative of Baale Abimbola Community, Mr Kehinde Abimbola said Dr Samuel Ibiyemi is true lover of the community, not been the Chairman of the community, he did well, what if he is the chairman of the community, imagine what he would have done in community.

“I want to say boldly that he deserves the award and we pray God will continue to uphold his family”.
