BREAKING: Cote d’Ivoire Declares Public Holiday After Beating Nigeria

Cote d’Ivoire has declared Monday a public holiday to commemorate Les Elephants’ victory in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The host nation clinched their third AFCON title by defeating Nigeria 2-1 on Sunday night.

The Super Eagles took the lead with a goal from William Troost-Ekong just before halftime.

However, Emerse Fae’s team turned the game around in the second half with goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller.

The victory sparked jubilant celebrations across the country throughout the night.

Today, there will be a trophy parade at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

President Alssanne Quattara and other government officials are expected to attend the event.

During the parade, the President is set to announce a monetary reward for the players and their coaching staff.
