A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) 24 hours to release Abuja businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu.
Justice Inyang Ekwo also ordered all the parties involved in the $150 million fraud cases involving the socialite to appear before the court on Friday, May 2, to ascertain the outcome of its ruling.
Recall that the court had ordered Achimugu to honour the invitation of the EFCC on Tuesday, April 29.
The court in its ruling had also mandated the EFCC and Achimugu to appear before it on Wednesday – a day after she honours the commission’s invitation – to hear applications before it on the matter.
Following this, the businesswoman was arrested by the anti-graft agency upon her return to Nigeria from London at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on Tuesday, April 29.
The EFCC had earlier alleged that Achimugu had jumped bail over her involvement in the case of corruption, money laundering and possession of property suspected to have been illegally acquired among others.
The commission prior to her return also declared the businesswoman wanted, stating that she had jumped bail.
