The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, March 10, adjourned the hearing of a suit filed by Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
The court adjourned the matter to March 25, 2025, following a submission by the respondents.
The respondents in their submission informed the court that they are yet to be duly served with the necessary documents on the matter.
Recall that the Kogi Central Senator had sought a court order restraining the Senate Committee from probing her conduct at the plenary two weeks ago.
However, delivering a ruling on March 5, the judge over the matter, Justice Obiora Egwuatu barred the committee from proceeding with the already scheduled probe.
Although the committee went ahead with its sitting, Akpoti-Uduaghan failed to appear before it.
The committee on the conclusion of its investigation, further recommended a suspension for the Kogi Senator to the leadership of the Senate.
Following this, Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for six months by the Nigerian Senate.
