BREAKING: Days after abduction, Kwara govt officials regain freedom
Barely two days after their abduction by some unknown gunmen, top government officials in Kwara state including Omoladun Arinde, the Head of the Legal Department and Musibau Amuda, the Director of Personnel Management in Oke-Ero Local Government Area Council have regained their freedom.
In a statement issued on Monday, April 28, by James Fadipe, the chairman of the LGA, the victims regained their freedom and have returned safely in good health.
The victims were kidnapped by the gunmen on Friday, April 25, while travelling from Iloffa to Ilorin, Kwara state capital.
The freed duo were abducted alongside other officials of the council during their trip to Ilorin.
The Police in the state while confirming their abduction said they were ambushed by five armed men around Eleyin village in the Isin local government council area of the state.
It was gathered that two of the victims were rescued by the police while an attempt to secure the safe return of other victims was underway.
