BREAKING: Deadly Stabbing Shocks Kansas City—Suspect in Custody

KANSAS CITY, MO – A quiet Kansas City apartment complex turned into a crime scene late Wednesday night after a brutal stabbing left one woman dead and another seriously injured. Authorities wasted no time in taking a suspect into custody following the horrifying attack.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), officers rushed to the 600 block of East Minor Drive around 11:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a violent incident. When they arrived, they found two women suffering from stab wounds inside the apartment.

Dayteonna Thompson, one of the victims, was discovered unresponsive with life-threatening injuries. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead. Her mother, who also suffered a stab wound to the chest, was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police acted swiftly, identifying and arresting a male suspect who was known to the victims. While authorities have not officially confirmed his relationship to Thompson, social media speculation suggests the two may have been romantically involved.

The investigation remains ongoing, with officials urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers or directly to the Kansas City Police Department.
