BREAKING: Dele Farotimi Responds After Arabambi Accused Peter Obi Of Appointing Only Igbos As His Spokespersons

Abayomi Arabambi, national secretary of the Labour Party, is seen in a video that has gone viral accusing Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate, of solely designating Igbo spokespersons while excluding Yoruba and Hausa representatives.

Arabambi asserted on Arise News that Obi’s appointments suggest other regions are subpar. In addition, Arabambi said that the true problem, not financial disputes, was Julius Abure, the chairman of the LP, trying to “Igbonize” the party.

In reaction, Peter Obi presidential campaign spokesperson Dele Farotimi quoted the video on Twitter, criticizing Arise News. Farotimi said the video “doesn’t speak well of @ARISEtv” for allowing obvious lies and twisted facts to support a false narrative. He accused the interviewer of enabling Arabambi’s lies.

Specifically, Farotimi took issue with Arabambi’s claims that Obi excluded Yoruba and Hausa people as spokespersons and Abure tried to make the party Igbo-centric. Farotimi implied these accusations are verifiable as untrue, yet the Arise interviewer let Arabambi state them unchallenged.

Obi’s campaign spokesperson Dele Farotimi slammed Arise News for airing an interview where Labour Party secretary Abayomi Arabambi made allegedly false claims about Obi’s appointments and the party’s leadership without pushback. Farotimi said the interview propagated lies and misinformation by failing to challenge Arabambi.
