BREAKING: Delta Governor Announces Groundbreaking for N78 Billion Infrastructure Development

OSUBI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has declared plans for the inauguration of a transformative infrastructure initiative worth N78 billion.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set to occur on Monday, November 27, marking a significant leap forward in the state’s urban landscape.

The governor made this revelation during a meeting at his private residence in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area, while hosting the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II), and his delegation on a condolence visit.

Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude towards the Ooni of Ife for his invaluable role in fostering peace across the nation, particularly in diffusing tensions between the Ijaws and Yorubas in Delta State. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to the state’s progress and harmony.

“We are initiating the groundbreaking for the construction of three flyovers, cloverleaf, and pedestrian bridges, a project valued at N78 billion and awarded to Julius Berger, set to commence in Effurun and Warri metropolis on November 27,” stated Governor Oborevwori, emphasizing the significance of ongoing and upcoming developmental projects.

Acknowledging the Ooni of Ife’s contributions to societal welfare, the governor lauded his humanitarian efforts, especially during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Oborevwori endorsed the Ooni’s commitment to fostering peace and encouraged other traditional leaders to emulate his leadership style in ensuring national harmony.

Expressing gratitude for the Ooni’s support and prayers for Delta State, Governor Oborevwori reassured him of his dedication to serving all Deltans. He assured the monarch that their next encounter would involve the inauguration of groundbreaking projects within the state, underscoring his commitment to tangible progress.

In response, the Ooni of Ife, Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers, highlighted his visit’s purpose: to resolve inter-ethnic issues between the Ijaws and Yorubas in Delta State and extend condolences to Governor Oborevwori on the loss of his mother-in-law.

“I am in your state to ensure peaceful co-existence among the tribes, leveraging the rich cultural ties. We resolved potentially volatile situations in Gbaramatu, exemplifying the traditional rulers’ role in conflict resolution,” stated Oba Ogunwusi, acknowledging Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to preserving culture and traditions.

Commending the governor’s achievements and his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for Delta State and Nigeria, the monarch expressed pride and appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s contributions.
