The deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was among notable individuals who attended the 125th annual Nyass Maulud, an event honouring the birth of the esteemed Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, in Bauchi State on Sunday.
Naija News understands that thousands of Muslim devotees from Nigeria and abroad gathered at the Bauchi Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium to celebrate the Islamic event.
This significant occasion, recognized for its extensive participation and spiritual importance, attracted attendees from various regions of Nigeria and beyond.
Other notable Islamic scholars and dignitaries present included Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, his wife, Dr. Aishatu Bala Mohammed, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, who represented Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
At the event, Governor Mohammed commended the Tijjaniya sect for their peaceful demeanour, commitment to spiritual advancement, and their role in fostering societal harmony.
He encouraged the sect to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and development, emphasizing that religious harmony is essential for national progress.
The governor also appealed to all citizens to collaborate in creating a stronger, more unified nation through mutual respect and understanding across different faiths.
The Bauchi State Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering more excellent democratic benefits and improving the welfare of Islamic scholars.
He expressed deep appreciation to the organizers for selecting Bauchi State as the event’s location and for their ongoing prayers for peace and development in the state and the nation.
