Despite facing sexual harassment and intimidation at the Senate, the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has remained undeterred in fulfilling her electoral promises to her constituents.

Within less than a year in office, she has transformed the educational landscape of Kogi Central by distributing 5,000 digital learning devices to all public primary and secondary schools in her constituency, aiming to enhance learning and improve the quality of education in the state.

Beyond the distribution of these digital learning devices, Senator Uduaghan also initiated the construction of a Fulani school, clinic, and boreholes in the Osara community as part of her development agenda for the region.

According to the senator, education is the greatest legacy that can be passed on to future generations, as it forms the foundation of a prosperous society.

Reflecting on her achievements within her first year in office, Senator Uduaghan stated that the provision of 5,000 Digital Learning Devices to public schools, alongside the commencement of a Fulani school, clinic, and boreholes in Kogi Central, marks a significant milestone in her service to the people.

While presenting the learning devices to students, she reaffirmed that the initiative was in line with her campaign promises to the people of Kogi State, particularly her constituents. She further noted that the complete rehabilitation of Abdul Laziz Attah Memorial College (AAAMCO), Okene, had been finalised and handed over to the school management.

Additionally, other selected schools across Kogi Central, including the former Provincial Secondary School, Okene, and Brown New Model Primary and Secondary Schools, Osara, have also undergone renovation and are now fully functional.

The senator revealed that her office had facilitated the establishment of a Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AI&R) at the Federal College of Education, Okene, as well as an Automobile Mechatronics Cottage Workshop at the technical college in Oboroke.

Speaking on the foundation laying of the new clinic, school, and boreholes for the Fulani community in Osara, Senator Uduaghan recalled that during a town hall meeting with the Fulani residents, they had presented a long list of requests. In response, she pledged to provide them with a school, clinic, and boreholes.

“The community donated land for the project and also assured us that they would accommodate and safeguard the workforce during the construction process. Their commitment encouraged my team and me to take immediate action.

“I thank God today that we are laying the foundation for both the clinic and the school, all for the greater good of humanity,” she stated.

Expressing their gratitude, an elder from the Fulani community conveyed their overwhelming joy, noting that many politicians had previously made similar promises but failed to deliver. He praised Senator Uduaghan for turning their long-standing dreams into reality and confidently assured that her re-election for a second term was all but certain.
