The 2023 Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso and former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, have met with ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Naija News reports that Kwankwaso and Duke met with Obasanjo over the weekend at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Kwankwanso gave details of the meeting alongside their photos in a post on his X handle.
Kwankwaso explained that during the courtesy visit, deliberations on significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria, defined the conversation.
He wrote: “I was pleased to be in company of my friend, HE Donald Duke and other associates to pay a courtesy call on President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta.
“Deliberations on significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria defined the conversation.
“We are grateful to Baba for his warm support and hospitality. – RMK.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of making monetary promises to opposition political parties to support its candidate during the election.
He alleged that the APC is deploying financial offerings, intimidations, and other tactics to ensure that opposition parties in Nigeria align with the agenda of the present government.
According to him, the APC has already succeeded in decimating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and other opposition parties.
He, however, argued that they have not succeeded with the NNPP because the party is too smart for them.
Galadima added that the leader of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, represents the nightmare of the APC.
