BREAKING: Dr Sam Amadi Revealed Those Who Looted Food Warehouses In Abuja Are Not Typical Criminals

Dr. Sam Amadi, an expert, discussed the looting of the Abuja warehouses in an interview published by Arise, describing the incident as regretful.

He talked about how the looting should be seen as a statement to the government about the difficulties the nation is facing, rather than just a criminal act.

Dr Amadi said: “There is hunger there is frustration but at the same time there is criminality, so government has to really think carefully. Fifteen people arrested, are you goin to prosecute this people like regular criminals, are you going to see it as unfortunate evidence of total collapse of hope.

He further spoke of how people public justification for looting public ware houses is a signal to wrong administration and management in the country.

“I think the key issue here is to see that it is a signal to deal with this question of hunger but at the same time government cannot allow anarchy, stealing, this is crime.

“But at the same time from a strategic broad perspective government should see it not just as a typical crime.

“I think looting is not part of our culture. Unlike in some part of the world where it is a form of protest, political protest, people don’t want to show their poverty, we are a people that want to mask our poverty.

“If it gets to the point where men, fathers can speak to the camera and try to say we need to take this, justify it, then it is a signal that something is really wrong.
