In a dramatic turn of events, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, a renowned ‘native doctor’ in Oba, Idemmili Local Government Area of Anambra State, famed for his extravagant lifestyle on social media, has categorically denied any involvement in the preparation of prosperity charms.
Mr Nwangwu, widely known as Akwa Okuku Tiwara Aki – which loosely translates to “the Chicken’s egg that breaks the palm kernel” – was questioned by the Deputy Governor of the state, Onyeka Ibezim, during the ongoing crackdown on suspected fraudulent native doctors.
During the interrogation on Saturday night, Akwa Okuku Tiwara Aki rejected allegations that he prepared a wealth medicine known as Okeite for the youth in the state.
“I don’t do that, and you won’t find anything like that on my personal social media account,” he stated.
“It’s not my page that posted the viral video about Okeite. I’ve only heard of Okeite; I don’t engage in such practices. If you check my page, you won’t see anything related to that. I’ve already stopped it.”
“Okeite, we just gave it that name, it’s just a name, nothing more. Okeite is the same as awelle (open doors), it’s just that it comes in a pot.”
After listening to the native doctor, the Deputy Governor stated, “We will investigate further. We want to see these things. We want to know where you perform these activities and obtain evidence of what you claim to do. If you fail to provide these, you understand the consequences.”
Following the interrogation, Akwa Okuku was taken away in a security vehicle as the government continues its investigation into his activities.
Journalist101 recalls that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has declared war on native doctors in the state, emphasising that they must be documented and prove the efficacy of the cures they claim to offer.
