A new Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, has officially taken over at the Federal Ministry of Education, vowing to enhance the quality of education in the country.

Enitan, on resumption, urged directors and staff to work diligently and ensure that the nation’s future is safeguarded.

He emphasised the role of the education sector in human capital development and called for greater commitment to the ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda.

Enitan, who understudied his predecessor for three months, assured the staff that their welfare would be a priority, promising to uphold an open-door policy.

He expressed his dedication to implementing progressive innovations and reforms within the sector.

“I am committed to mobilising, coordinating, and deploying the available human, financial, and material resources in support of the political leadership of the ministry,” Enitan said.

“My aim is to enhance the quality of education and establish a robust educational system that meets the needs of our ever-evolving society.”

Also speaking, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, urged senior officials and staff to work harmoniously with his successor, expressing confidence in Enitan’s leadership.

Sani-Gwarzo also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in various capacities across different ministries and levels of government.

The event was marked with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate Dr. Sani-Gwarzo’s 60th birthday, along with felicitations and congratulatory messages for his accomplishments.
