The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Oyeniyi Adebayo as his Chief of Staff.
Adebayo, who presently serves as the state’s Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management, will officially take on the responsibilities of chief of staff starting January 2, 2025.
The development was announced in a statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, who indicated that Adebayo is anticipated to leverage his extensive expertise in finance, management, and planning to coordinate the activities of the governor’s office effectively.
Adebayo, a native of Usi-Ekiti, joined the administration of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as Special Adviser for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management in November 2022 and was subsequently inaugurated as a commissioner overseeing the ministry in August 2023.
Barely a week ago, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, approved the appointment of 160 individuals to the positions of Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants across all 33 Local Government areas within the state.
The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, announced this in Ibadan, the state capital.
The appointed individuals include 93 Supervisory Councilors and 67 Special Assistants, with representation for Persons Living With Disabilities.
Ojo emphasized that this initiative is in line with the governor’s commitment to ensuring that every segment of society is represented in the current administration’s decision-making processes.
Ojo said, “The new appointees were selected based on merit, competence, and their capacity to contribute to the Makinde administration’s agenda of sustainable development, especially at the grassroots.
“The appointments aim to strengthen the governance framework at the Local Government level to ensure effective service delivery to the people of the state.
“This administration is committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities or background, is represented in governance, and this is so because the present administration believes in the talents and potential of all individuals, including persons living with disabilities.”
