BREAKING: El-Rufai Unveils Alleged Plot to Arrest, Torture Him Like Emefiele

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has claimed to have heard rumours of a plot to arrest and torture him in a dungeon located within the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

Responding to a post by X user Imran @IU_Wakilii, El-Rufai noted that some individuals seem to be uncomfortable whenever he is in Nigeria.

The X user had written, “I have reliable information that there is a plan to arrest (not invite) Mallam Nasir El-Rufai if he returns to Nigeria, based on yet another concocted allegation.

“I am confident that El-Rufai will come back soon; he has nothing to hide and fears no one.”

El-Rufai, whose ministerial aspirations faced significant setbacks, stated, “Your post refers. I have been hearing these same rumours of arrest, detention, and torture within some dungeon in the NSA’s office (where Emefiele was allegedly coerced into resigning as CBN governor) since July 2024, when reports from the Kaduna Assembly first began circulating.

“They panicked when we challenged the legitimacy of this premeditated defamation, going to great lengths to undermine the judicial process, which continues at the Court of Appeal.”

The APC chieftain indicated that the ultimate goal is to force him into self-exile, a fate he firmly rejects, emphasising that he has paused his studies to dedicate more time to Nigeria.

“They have sent similar messages of intimidation and threats through many of my friends, family, and political associates in an effort to pressure me into self-imposed exile.

 “I will not comply.

“I have put all my previous academic pursuits and language-learning plans on hold to dedicate myself to Nigeria more than ever. Silence is no longer an option, and inaction is not viable.

“The arrest, detention, and torture of perceived political adversaries are not new phenomena. I have been arrested and detained three times in the past for expressing my views about former governments.

“There is always a new day following arrest, detention, or torture, and political life carries on. As for death, it befalls us when Allah decrees it; that is the eventuality for every human being.

“To the despondent individuals who cannot find rest when I am in Nigeria, be assured that I plan to return in time for the launch of President IBB’s memoirs, in sha Allah, scheduled for 20th February.

“We rely on no one but Allah. We fear no mortal but Almighty Allah. We always hope for the best while preparing for the worst.

“Thank you, @IU_Wakilii, for your concern, but remember, what will be, will always be.”
