The FCT police have refuted claims circulating online regarding the alleged kidnapping and murder of retired Immigration officer David Shikfu Parradang in Abuja.
A counter-insurgency publication had reported that the former Comptroller General (CG) was attacked on the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2025, in the Area 1 area of Abuja. The report alleged that assailants followed Parradang from a bank after he withdrew cash, robbed him, and subsequently killed him.
However, in a statement released by spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT police command asserted that this account is false.
According to the statement, “On March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked into the hotel, paying Twenty-two thousand naira (N22,000) for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he instructed a hotel attendant to escort a female guest to his room. This woman left the hotel premises at around 04:00 PM that same day.
After the woman departed, Mr. Parradang did not leave his room. Concerned for his welfare, a friend who is a military officer traced him to the hotel at around 04:00 AM on March 4, 2025. Upon arrival, the hotel receptionist and the officer went to his room, where Mr. Parradang was found dead, seated in a chair.
Adeh stated that Durumi Police Station was notified, and officers promptly arrived at the scene to secure the area, photograph the scene, and gather relevant evidence to maintain the integrity of the investigation. The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with the police investigation.
