BREAKING: Ex-lawmaker slams Tinubu for appointing APC’s Felix Morka as NTA board chairman

The lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Eighth Nigerian Senate, Shehu Sani has condemned the appointment of Felix Morka as the board chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Morka was appointed alongside 22 others including 19 chairmen and members of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives into various agencies and parastals of the government.
A spokesperson for the ruling party, Morka’s appointment as NTA’s board chairman has spiked discussion among Nigerians.
For Sani, appointing Morka as chairman of the board of NTA, a government-owned institution is partisan.
In a post made on X, Sani said Morka’s appointment is capable of casting aspersions on the contents that would be produced by the television station.
His words, “The NTA is statutorily owned by the FG. However, appointing the Spokesperson of the ruling party to chair its board would cast aspersions on its contents.
“Its objectivity, image and professionalism would be questioned more than ever before,” Sani wrote.
He also advised the president to hand an alternative position to the APC’s spokesperson to avoid any form of controversy or bias.
“The party spokesman should be considered for an alternative appointment to save the station,” Sani added.
