BREAKING: Ex-President’s Former Aide Exposes Man Over Mistaken ₦1.5m Transfer, Shares Proof

Former Special Assistant on Digital Communications to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has publicly accused a man, Obi Ikechukwu Marcel, of refusing to return money mistakenly transferred to him in December 2024.

Ahmad made the allegations in a post on social media, where he also shared a receipt of the transaction as proof.

According to Ahmad, despite efforts by Access Bank—Marcel’s bank—to retrieve the funds, the recipient refused to comply.

Initially reluctant to disclose the transaction details, Ahmad stated that he had hoped either Providus Bank (his bank) or Access Bank would issue an official clarification regarding the matter.

However, after neither financial institution provided any public statement, he felt compelled to share the receipt to validate his claim.

“I initially didn’t want to post this transaction receipt of an erroneous transfer I made to one Obi Ikechukwu Marcel in December 2024. Even though he flatly refused to return the money when Access Bank contacted him, I still wanted to respect his privacy by not sharing the receipt publicly,” Ahmad explained.

He urged those who know Marcel to encourage him to return the money amicably, adding that the issue could have been resolved without public exposure if the recipient had cooperated.
