BREAKING: Family of Four Dies in Abuja Road Crash

A tragic motor accident on the Akwanga-Abuja road has resulted in the deaths of a family of four.

The victims were returning to Abuja after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in Makurdi when the accident occurred on Saturday.

The deceased include Victor Angbiandoo Tyohemba, 37, an accountant; his wife, Erdoo Stephanie; and their two daughters, Agnes and Immaculate.

Victor’s elder brother, Emmanuel, shared the heartbreaking news during an interview with our correspondent on Tuesday.

Emmanuel expressed, “It is with profound sadness that the family of Mr. Gabriel Mmem Tyohemba Ambe announces the tragic loss of their beloved members: Mr. Victor Angbiandoo Tyohemba (husband), Mrs. Erdoo Stephanie Angbiandoo (wife), Miss Agnes Ngohide Angbiandoo (daughter), and Miss Immaculate Sesughter Angbiandoo, all of whom perished in a horrific accident along the Akwanga-Abuja road while travelling back to Abuja.

“This devastating incident occurred on January 4, 2025, in Akwanga, but was only confirmed on January 5, 2025.”

He noted that the bodies were recovered and interred at the family home in Igbor on January 6, 2025.

Recalling how he received the tragic news while on his way to Zaria, he said, “The family left Makurdi in a commercial vehicle on Saturday for Abuja, while I departed on Sunday for my post in Zaria.

“Throughout Saturday, we didn’t hear from them. We tried contacting both Victor and his wife, but their phones were unreachable. The next day, I attempted again, with no success. Concerned, I began contacting people to find out which park in Makurdi they had boarded the bus to Abuja. Eventually, someone informed me that a bus heading to Abuja on Saturday had been involved in an accident.

“I later managed to get in touch with the manager of the transport company, who confirmed the accident. I went to retrieve their bodies and brought them home to Igbor.”

He urged sympathisers to keep the family in their prayers as they mourn the untimely loss of their loved ones.
