FG, States, and LGs Share ₦2.103 Trillion Allocation from September 2025 Federation Account

The Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils have shared a total of ₦2.103 trillion from the September 2025 Federation Account revenue.

This was disclosed in a communique issued on Friday following the October 2025 Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting held in Abuja.

The total shared amount is lower than the ₦2.2 trillion shared in August 2025, reflecting a decrease in overall revenue.

The ₦2.103 trillion distributable revenue is broken down into distributable statutory revenue of ₦1.239 trillion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of ₦812.593 billion, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of ₦51.684 billion.

A total gross revenue of ₦3.054 trillion was available for September 2025. From this amount, ₦116.149 billion was deducted for the cost of collection, while ₦835.005 billion was allocated for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

The gross statutory revenue for September stood at ₦2.128 trillion, which was ₦710.134 billion lower than the ₦2.838 trillion recorded in August 2025.

On the other hand, gross VAT revenue for September 2025 reached ₦872.630 billion, marking an increase of ₦150.011 billion from August 2025 when it stood at ₦722.619 billion.

Allocation Breakdown for the Federal Government, States, and Local Governments

From the ₦2.103 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received ₦711.314 billion, while the State Governments got ₦727.170 billion. The Local Government Councils received ₦529.954 billion, and ₦134.956 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared as derivation revenue to the benefiting states.

Out of the ₦1.239 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received ₦581.672 billion, while the State Governments received ₦295.032 billion. The Local Government Councils were allocated ₦227.457 billion, with ₦134.956 billion allocated as derivation revenue to benefiting states.

From the ₦812.593 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government received ₦121.889 billion, while the State Governments received ₦406.297 billion, and Local Government Councils were allocated ₦284.408 billion.

On the ₦51.684 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy, the Federal Government received ₦7.753 billion, while State Governments received ₦25.842 billion, and Local Government Councils received ₦18.089 billion.

For the month of September, Import Duty, VAT, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) saw significant increases, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Customs and Excise Taxes (CET) experienced considerable declines.

The Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) showed a slight increase, while Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty experienced marginal decreases.
