A raging fire has engulfed a section of the Gusau Central Market in Zamfara State, leaving shops and goods worth millions of naira in ruins.
According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday night, the inferno broke out unexpectedly and spread rapidly across several stalls before traders and residents could intervene.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as heartbreaking, with shop owners frantically attempting to salvage their goods amid the intense flames. The extent of the damage is yet to be fully assessed, but the loss is believed to be substantial.
Affected traders have made urgent appeals for assistance from the Zamfara State Fire Service, as the inferno continues to burn in parts of the market.
