The immediate past governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Thursday, December 26, visited Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu, representing Abia North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate.
Uzor-Kalu, a former governor of Abia state, made this known in a post on his Facebook page.
He also shared a photo of him hugging the Bello, in his residence in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.
Uzor-Kalu, 64, wrote: “I extended ‘OUK HUG’ to my brother and friend, ex-Gov. Yahaya Bello as we Celebrate Boxing Day together in my residence.”
The post generated over 1,500 comments on the senator’s Facebook page, a rarity in recent times.
Comments from many Nigerians condemned the visit, with some making snide comments about the duo.
One commenter, Igidi George, wrote: “Former Kuje residents”, referring to the fact both Kalu and Bello have spent time in Kuje prison due to the allegations of corruption.
Prince Uzo Ogidinta wrote: “We know the similarity between you 2.”
Ed Nazarene-GCKson wrote: “Two thieves always flock together!”
Alhaj Abdulaziz Otohinoyi Shuaib wrote: “Co looters. You are freed from Abia State’s N7.2 Billion naira misappropriation, and Yahaya Bello is almost free from N110 billion naira Kogi State treasury looting, forgetting that posterity will remain to judge all corrupt politicians.”
Fabian Nwachukwu wrote: “See them! EFCC high-ranked customers.”
Ahmadu O. John wrote: “Prison reunion. Happy reunion and boxing day to you guys.”
