BREAKING: Former Opposition Gubernatorial Candidates Collapse Structures Into SDP

Former gubernatorial candidates of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) have announced their decision to merge their political structures with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in their respective states.

The latest development was made known on Wednesday by Mallam Hayatu Lawal, the PRP’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State.

At least eight former candidates pledged their support during a meeting in Abuja, assuring the SDP leadership that they would help boost the party’s chances in the 2027 elections against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The SDP has seen a wave of new members since the defection of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai from the APC to the party.
