BREAKING: FRSC Deploys 754 Patrol Vehicles, 143 Ambulances

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 754 patrol vehicles, 143 ambulances, and other essential equipment to monitor highways and manage traffic flow during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
According to a statement signed by FRSC spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide on Thursday, the nationwide deployment, which runs from March 27 to April 2, 2025, is part of the Corps’ strategy to reduce road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries during the festive period.
The patrol vehicles will be positioned at critical routes and high-traffic areas to enforce traffic laws, remove road obstructions, and ensure swift responses to emergencies.
The FRSC also deployed 157 administrative vehicles, 48 tow trucks, and radar guns to monitor speed violations.
“Under the objectives set to ensure the safety of lives and properties of all road users during the forthcoming 2025 Eid-el-Fitr trips and celebrations, the Federal Road Safety Corps has deployed its entire workforce, including Special Marshals, to the highways to ensure a hitch-free movement as commuters travel from one destination to another across the nation,” the statement read.
To further enhance road safety, the FRSC has set up 16 traffic control camps along major routes and is actively manning 53 critical highways, including Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega-Birnin Kebbi, Katsina-Kano-Wudil-Dutse-Azare-Potiskum, and Abuja-Kaduna-Kano.
The 143 ambulances will be stationed along critical highways to provide rapid emergency response and medical assistance in case of accidents.
Also, the Corps has established roadside clinics and emergency rescue teams to ensure immediate aid is available.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, stressed that the early deployment of the resources reflects a proactive approach to managing increased traffic volume, speeding, and other risky driving behaviours common during Eid-el-Fitr.
“By ensuring a visible presence on the roads, the FRSC aims to deter dangerous driving and facilitate smoother, safer travel for all road users,” he stated.
The FRSC also set up mobile courts and is collaborating with the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other agencies to ensure traffic laws are strictly adhered to.
Motorists are urged to report traffic incidents and seek assistance through the FRSC mobile app, social media channels, and toll-free helpline (122).
