BREAKING: Fubara Bows to Pressure, Invites Pro-Wike Lawmakers for Crucial Meeting

Governor Siminialayi Fubara has extended an invitation to the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, along with other lawmakers, for a meeting at Government House in Port Harcourt.

This invitation, issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, is significant as it marks the first occasion Fubara has officially referred to Amaewhule as the Speaker of the Assembly.

Dated March 7, the invitation references a letter from the governor dated March 5, in which he acknowledged the receipt of the Supreme Court’s judgement.

“The governor has, therefore, directed that you and your fellow Honourable members of the Rivers State House of Assembly be invited to a meeting,” the invitation read.

The agenda will cover vital issues, including the provision of a suitable venue for the Assembly’s sittings, the resolution of outstanding remuneration and allowances, the presentation of the budget, and other important matters concerning the state’s advancement.

The lawmakers are requested to meet with the governor at his office on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m.
