BREAKING: Gov. Oyebanji lauds Ekiti procurement system, contractors’ capacity to deliver

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has commended the state’s procurement process for its role in ensuring efficiency in the selection of contractors for government projects. He emphasised that the process has enabled his administration to engage contractors with the capacity to deliver projects to specification.

Governor Oyebanji gave this commendation on Thursday during an inspection of several ongoing projects in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The inspection was aimed at validating reports from the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the Independent Projects Monitoring Office, and the Ministry of Budget.

Expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, the Governor stated: “We have gone round three projects, and I am impressed by the pace of work done by the contractors. It also speaks to the fidelity of our procurement process in selecting contractors with the capacity and ability to work according to plan.”

The projects inspected include: Ekiti State International Centre for Art and Culture in Ekute; Central Business District at Atikankan; Ekiti State Internal Revenue Office, all located in Ado-Ekiti.

Governor Oyebanji reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that all ongoing projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

To achieve this, he announced plans to hold monthly review meetings with contractors and supervisory agencies to monitor progress and swiftly resolve any challenges that may arise.

He also urged contractors to communicate any difficulties they encounter during project execution so that solutions can be found promptly.

The Governor noted that the development of key infrastructure in the state would not only enhance the appearance of Ado-Ekiti but also create opportunities for businesses to thrive, ultimately boosting Ekiti State’s internally generated revenue.

Governor Oyebanji also expressed appreciation to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejuyigbe, and the residents of Atikankan for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth execution of projects.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to monitoring all ongoing projects closely, he assured the people of Ekiti that every project would be executed to deliver value for money and long-term benefits.
