The chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is allegedly wooing some governors on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform as part of moves to enlarge the coast of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News learnt that there are strong indications that some PDP governors may move to APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to Vanguard, the move by the PDP governors to dump their party is reportedly in connection with lingering and unresolved crisis in the party, especially with the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party and also in some states and zonal levels.
The prelude to the defection is that while some governors have begun visits to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, others are inviting him to commission projects in their respective states, where discussions are said to be ongoing.
Recall that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, recently urged Deltans to support Tinubu.
Oborevwori said one of his administration’s major communication policy thrusts was to consistently support President Tinubu as he continues to deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda for the betterment of Nigerians, including Deltans.
Also, Tinubu visited Enugu State last Saturday, where he commissioned several projects. He stated that Governor Peter Mbah was doing a fantastic job and expressed happiness that Enugu was making great strides.
Tinubu also praised Mbah for his leadership style and commitment to development, describing him as a focused and result-oriented leader.
Similarly, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, was among the first callers to visit President Tinubu at his Bourdilon house in Lagos State during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
