BREAKING: Govs Urge Muslims To Pray For Peace In Nigeria

As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts across the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr, some state governors, in their Eid messages, urged them to pray for peace in the country.
Eid-El-Fitr, meaning the festival of breaking the fast marks the end of Ramdan, and is a time of gratitude, charity and communal harmony.
In his Eid message, Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, urged citizens to continue living in peace and love while praying for the state and nation.
“Our government is committed to promoting peaceful coexistence. I urge Muslims to sustain these values after Ramadan to build a prosperous and peaceful Adamawa State,” Fintiri said.
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State urged Muslim Ummah to intensify efforts in consistent prayer for prevailing peace across Nigeria.
The governor described prayer as a sure path to securing the entire nation from its current security challenges.
Extending warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious occasion of Eid-El-Fitr, Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, said the prayers are powerful instrument for change.
“Our collective prayers are powerful instruments for positive change. Let us continue to pray for divine intervention in overcoming the challenges facing our dear state and country at large,” Governor Radda urged.
In his own Eid message, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State appealed to the people of Zamfara State to embrace unity and peace.
“As we celebrate the Eid-El Fitr, I urge every one of us to carry forward the virtues of discipline, patience, and generosity that Ramadan has instilled in us.
“The challenges before us are enormous and require collective effort and cooperation to be addressed. Let us therefore set aside our differences, work together as one people, and support the government’s agenda for rescuing and rebuilding our dear State,” Governor Lawal.
In his goodwill message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who is also the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, urged the Muslim faithful to carry forward the spiritual lessons and values learned during the Ramadan into their daily lives.
The Governor called on the people of Gombe to remain steadfast in unity and collective prayer, especially as the country gradually overcomes its economic challenges.
“The virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, love, and obedience to the principles of Islam that Eid-el-Fitr represents should inspire us to continue to promote harmony and peaceful coexistence in our society,” he said.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, extended hearty greetings and profound congratulations to the Muslim Community.
He said, “Eid al-Fitr is a moment of celebration, gratitude, and meditation. It marks the completion of Ramadan, a month devoted to prayer, fasting, and measures of kindness.
“As you gather with family and friends to celebrate this momentous day, may it be filled with joy, peace, and unity”.
In his Eid message, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State extolled the lessons and virtues of faith, togetherness, mercy, and charity inherent in the Holy Month of Ramadan, describing them as critical values in nation building.
He said, “I congratulate our Muslim brethren on the successful journey of faith, sacrifice, and charity throughout the holy month of Ramadan and rejoice with them on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
“It is my prayer that the virtues of faith, peace, love, mercy, tolerance, and sacrifice imbibed during the Ramadan Fast shall continue to enrich and underline our individual lives and bonding as one people.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State said, “I would like to call on all the good people of the State to use the occasion of the Eid-El-Fitr to strengthen the existing relationships among them and also establish new ones.
“You should also imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, love and respect for one another. I also appeal for tolerance, accommodation and a sense of understanding among the various ethnic, religious and political groups in the State.”
In his statement, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of the Ramadan Fast, while also praying that the Eid-El-Fitr will be an opportunity for them to renew their faith in Almighty Allah and also strengthen their bonds of unity
The governor described Eid-El-Fitr is a time for increased charity and generosity, sharing food, love, time, and respect with the poor and needy, while also urging Muslims to use the occasion to pray for continued peace, progress and development of Kaduna State and the country in general.
