Gunmen masquerading as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly kidnapped ten individuals from the White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road, in Chanchaga LGA of Niger State.
As reported by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focusing on the Lake Chad region, the incident took place at approximately 4:58am on February 27, when the armed assailants stormed the hotel, posing as EFCC officers on an official mission.
Makama disclosed that the suspects disabled the hotel’s CCTV system before methodically entering guests’ rooms and forcibly taking away ten guests to an undisclosed location.
“The public has been urged and reassured to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as efforts are underway to uncover the truth behind this incident,” Makama stated.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police from the State Intelligence Department (ACP SID) confirmed to the publication that investigations are in progress to identify the perpetrators and locate the abducted victims.
