GAZA, Palestine – The Al-Qassam Brigades, one of armed wing fighting the Israeli occupation in Gaza has explained the reason Hamas embarked on the October 7 attack on Israel which claimed 1,139 lives.
In a statement, spokesman of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaydah said the October 7 saga was a response to the attempts to Judaise and destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“Al-Aqsa Mosque is a part of our faith and our nation has given everything for it”, he said.
According to him, Hamas has been fighting Israel for 154 days.
” We have inflicted heavy losses on their officers, soldiers, mercenaries and vehicles. We will do more”, he said, adding “until our people get their rights, the enemy will not be able to rest in our lands and will not be able to ensure security”, he said.
In a related development, Head of Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh described the occupation at the root of evil in the Middle East.
He called for effective action at various political, diplomatic, and legal levels in order to immediately stop the aggression against our people, especially in Gaza, and protect the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. He stressed the need to exert pressure on international capitals supporting the occupation with the aim of forcing it to stop this hideous war immediately and unconditionally.
Haniyeh said in his message that our people receive #Ramadan this year burdened with pain and hopes, and that our people are being exposed to the most horrific massacres in the genocidal war on Gaza, which were documented directly by human rights and international bodies, especially the International Court of Justice, and the media.
He emphasized the speed of real relief for Palestine in terms of food, medicine and shelter, and the opening of the crossings to fully operate, in a way that provides the full and urgent needs and completely ends the siege on people in Gaza and begin a comprehensive reconstruction process.
He called for more efforts to prosecute the occupation, expose its crimes, and isolate it politically and diplomatically, as a result of the war crimes and crimes against humanity it committed in the genocidal massacres in Gaza.
He stressed that the occupation is the root of all problems and instability in the region, and its continuation contradicts the principles of international law and the United Nations, and the Palestinian people’s attainment of their independence and freedom is what ends the root of the problem and establishes a new and different phase at the level of the region and the world.
“We reassure you and all free people that our people are increasingly attached to their land and more certain of the option of resistance, as a legitimate way to end the occupation, and they continue to confront all plans that aim to liquidate the Palestinian cause, no matter what the costs and sacrifices cost them, and that all these barbaric crimes will not dissuade them and their resistance from Continuing his path, until freedom and independence are achieved, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return and self-determination.
