BREAKING: High Court Complex Destroyed by Fire

A building housing the Cross River State High Court in Ogoja has been completely engulfed by flames.

It was reported that the fire broke out on Sunday evening, causing extensive damage to the court’s infrastructure.

Various security agencies and relevant authorities intervened to extinguish the blaze.

The cause and extent of the damage caused by the fire are still under investigation by the responsible authorities.

In a related incident, the Kwara State High Court complex was also damaged by fire in February 2024.

This incident in Kwara was attributed to a surge in electricity supply to the area.

A statement from Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, confirmed that the registry department and litigation office sustained particular damage during the fire at the complex.

The complex is situated in the GRA area of Ilorin, the state capital.

The statement further noted that firemen were alerted to the inferno via a distress call, which the firefighters promptly responded to.
