One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Segun Showunmi has apologized for the comment he made after he saw some Yoruba people begging for food.
This is coming after he posted a video of some Yoruba people begging for food on his official X handle. After sharing the video on his page, he said he was ashamed to see his people indulging in such act. Segun Showunmi proceeded to say that it will be difficult to see the Igbo people act like that.
However, after he made the statement, there were mixed reactions from many of his supporters online. Segun Showunmi has now apologized for his statement. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, he took responsibility of his words. He said he was so upset seeing the ugly event.
He wrote on his page;.
“I am very sorry and I apologize most profusely that my words were harsh and insensitive to our people. Do forgive me. I was just so upset seeing the ugly event. I am sorry”.
