A shocking incident occurred in Edo State, Nigeria, where a 38-year-old woman, Success Izekor, was brutally murdered by her husband, Kelvin Izekor. The couple, who were newlyweds, lived in Benin City, and their neighbors were left stunned by the tragic event.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed her disbelief and horror at the incident. “I can’t believe what I saw. Imagine being killed by your own husband. They were newlyweds, and nobody would have expected the woman to suffer such a fate.”
According to the Edo State Police Command, the incident occurred on February 22, 2025, at around 10:00 PM. The police received information that Kelvin Izekor had killed his wife, and an irate mob was about to lynch him.
Yamu added that the police had to intervene to rescue the suspect from the mob and take him into custody for investigation. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
The state Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, condemned the recent rise in cases of domestic violence and assured the public of a thorough investigation into the woman’s death. Yamu stressed that whoever was found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
