BREAKING: I Defected To LP To Support Otti Deliver Campaign Pledges – PDP Lawmaker

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member for Ugwunagbo constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Chijioke Uruakpa has said he defected to Labour Party (LP) to join Governor Alex Otti deliver his campaign promises.

Uruakpa spoke to LEADERSHIP, yesterday, in Umuahia, the state capital after his defection was announced on the floor of the House during plenary on Tuesday.

“I want to support the governor in his good work for the people of the state and to attract more democracy dividends to my constituency and the state at large,” he said.

The legislator had announced his defection when he,  in company of traditional rulers from the constituency visited Otti at his Nvosi country home, Isiala Ngwa South local government area.

In a similar development, the former chief press secretary of the immediate past governor and consistent critic of Otti, Onyebuchi Ememanka, has joined the LP from the PDP.

Ememanka’s official resignation from the PDP, which was made public last week was followed by a visit to Otti at his home after which he acknowledged the governor’s achievements.

“I have chosen to put Abia first and choose her sustainable development, above every other consideration. I have chosen Otti. I have chosen Labour Party,” he said.
