Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has fled Los Angeles amid the devastating wildfires ravaging the coastal state of California, United States of America.
Naija News reports that California is regarded as the world’s entertainment capital, and the recent tragedy that struck its southern region has displaced many people.
According to the BBC, over 137,000 people have been compelled to leave their homes, and multiple deaths have been recorded.
Reports also claimed that powerful winds and dry conditions triggered the Los Angeles wildfires, and there was no guarantee that some of the fires could be controlled.
Hollywood stars, including Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Ben Affleck, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, and Billy Crystal, have been forced to leave their mansions because of the wildfire.
Nigeria’s reality TV star, Morey Faith, was also affected, as she shared a video of the incident on her Instagram page.
In a post via her Instagram page on Thursday, Omotola announced that she is currently in Abuja.
The thespian said she evacuated her home in 20 minutes and urged her fans to check on their family members living in Los Angeles.
She wrote, “Touch down Abuja. When my American fans follow me back to Nigeria. I had to evacuate in 20mins. Please, guys stay safe out there. If you got family in LA check on them.”
