Ben Igweh, the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has spoken on the measures taken to combat the menace of kidnapping by criminals in the FCT.
In an interview with TVC, Igweh explained that they have deciphered the criminals’ strategies and have effectively taken control of their routes.
He confidently asserted that the police possess skilled motorcycle riders, including himself that can challenge the criminals who rely on this mode of transportation. He also said with motorcycles, the police can go after kidnappers in mountainous terrains.
Igweh emphasized that the police are well-equipped, thanks to resources provided by the Inspector General (IG), allowing them to succeed in their operations.
He expressed gratitude to the IG, stating that Abuja is gradually returning to its former state of security and prosperity
In Igweh’s words: “They think it is only them that can ride motorcycle, I can ride motorcycle better than them and I have boys that ride motorcycles.
So when they are with their motorcycles, we are equally with our own motorcycles. The IG provided us a lot that we are succeeding in our operations. I still want to thank him for any time I have opportunity, so Abuja is returning to its glory fully”.
