Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has said that he made a personal vow to destroy the Obidient Movement.

Speaking during an interview with News Central on Thursday, March 27, Omokri said Peter Obi is his project and he has what it takes to dismantle the Obidient Movement which has become an integral part of the former governor’s political campaigns.

He said, “I don’t, I am going to tell you what happened. I took a vow to destroy that movement because Peter Obi was a project of mine; you know, myself and two people actually.

Narrating some of the incidents that made him decide to take such path, Omokri said the members of the movement started attacking him and members of family.

He said, “What happened is that Peter Obi’s Obidient Movement, they started attacking me, threatening and insulting me. That was okay but then they moved from myself to my son and family.”

Omokri claimed that he received multiple death threats from members of the Obidient Movement to the extent that they began to trail his wife and his jogging route in the United Kingdom.

He said while this was happening, he contacted the former governor of Anambra State to inform him of the threats he has been receiving on his behalf, especially from an unnamed individual on X.

Rather than cautioning the individual, Omokri claimed that Obi told him he could only issue a general statement to the members of the Obidient Movement.

“The person masquerades as a mixed Swiss girl on X and I told him who the person was and asked that he speak with the person on the phone. Peter Obi put me on speaker to talk to somebody in the background and later came back to me to say, “look, I cannot condemn that person,” the former presidential aide stated.

He said for every time he contacted Obi about some of the actions of the members of the Obidient Movement, he does not.

“So, I took a personal decision… I am going to do my possible best with whatever considerable political machinery I have to destroy the headless mob,” he added.
