BREAKING: IAWPA Appoints Prof. Obajafa As Head Of Research, Dev’t For Africa

The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has appointed Prof. Felix Obajafa, who is the proprietor and Chancellor of Erudite University Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, as the Head of Research and Development (Africa).

This appointment, according to the International Spokesman of IAWPA, Amb Emmanuel Nkweke, positions Prof. Obajafa to lead research efforts that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on strategic programmes that promote peace, sustainable development, and humanitarian services.

As the Head of Research and Development, Prof. Obajafa will work closely with IAWPA to develop Strategic Programmes which will design and implement research initiatives that support the achievement of the SDGs, particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation (Goal 1) and quality education (Goal 4).
His appointment will also help accelerate the organisation of peace workshops, seminars, and other initiatives that foster global peace, tolerance, and understanding while also collaborating with IAWPA to advance its mission and objectives, leveraging his expertise and experience to drive positive change in Africa.

“Prof. Obajafa’s appointment is a testament to his commitment to promoting peace and sustainable development. As a renowned academic and leader, he is well-positioned to drive research initiatives that benefit Africa and the world at large,” the statement stressed.

IAWPA, with its Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, has been actively promoting peace and sustainable development globally.

This appointment aligns with the organisation’s objectives and strengthens its capacity to achieve its mission of global and regional peace.

The statement added the association will be presenting the formal international certificate of appointment to the erudite scholar and certificate of affiliation to the university, which is the first to receive it this year 2025. It noted also that for the past four years, aside the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, no other university has received such, stressing that this recent affiliation pwhich will offer the university the partnership advantage to United Nations Academic Impact and the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), and the UNSDG Academy, will remain the best in promoting the global vision of implementing and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The event is slated to be held at the Erudite University Jos on Thursday, May 8 2025.
