BREAKING: Idemudo Receives Prestigious ‘Harbinger Of Academic Excellence In Africa’ Award
National Leader of the Progressive People’s Resolution (PPR), Engr. Ubong Idemudo, has been honoured with the Harbinger of Academic Excellence in Africa Award in recognition of his transformative contributions to education and youth empowerment across the continent.
The award, presented by the Education Students’ Association of Nigeria (ESAN), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria chapter, in partnership with delegates from various tertiary institutions nationwide, was conferred during a high-profile ceremony held at the Barcelona Hotel, Wuse II, Abuja on May 12, 2025.
The event drew an audience of national student leaders, education stakeholders, policy influencers, and dignitaries from across Nigeria, all gathered to celebrate Idemudo’s commitment to advancing academic excellence and national development.
In his acceptance remarks, Engr. Idemudo dedicated the award to President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and “all patriotic Nigerian leaders passionate about building a better Nigeria.” He lauded their collective efforts in fostering a conducive environment for educational growth and youth inclusion.
Student leaders hailed Idemudo as a mentor and visionary, pointing to his philanthropic work through the Ubong Idemudo Foundation, as well as his educational initiatives aimed at improving access and quality across African institutions.
“His work is a blueprint for future-forward educational development,” one student leader remarked.
Addressing the gathering, Idemudo charged students to remain trustworthy, peaceful, and optimistic. “Believe in Nigeria,” he urged, adding, “As future leaders, your values, vision, and voice will shape the destiny of this great country.”
The PPR, in a statement signed by its National Director of Media and Publicity, Adam Hussain Doka, said the honour as not just a personal milestone for its leader, but a testament to the group’s unwavering commitment to youth development, education, and national transformation.
The Harbinger of Academic Excellence in Africa Award is considered one of the highest accolades bestowed by student bodies to individuals championing educational advancement on the continent.
