BREAKING: Images from the Crime Scene of the Tragic Murder of a Renowned Restaurant Owner in Jigawa

On Friday, February 16, the Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, CP AT Abdullahi, along with his management team, visited the family and relatives of the late Esther Adekanla.

The restaurant owner, widely known as Hadiza Nakowa Dutse, was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants at her residence in Dutse, the state capital.

Earlier reports indicated that the tragic incident occurred at her home, situated opposite Awajil Filling Station in Dutse. The lifeless body of the deceased was discovered in the sitting room, covered in a pool of blood.

Her 11-year-old daughter, Christiana Michael, was found unconscious but alive in a locked storeroom.

Concerns arose when the neighbors, unable to reach her on February 12, 2024, reported her absence to the Dutse Police Division. Detectives promptly initiated an investigation and, upon arriving at the residence on Thursday, February 15, 2024, forced open the locked door.

The team discovered visible cuts on the victim’s head and neck, and the body had already started decomposing. Christiana Michael, the surviving daughter with head injuries, was rescued and rushed to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital along with her deceased mother.

Despite medical efforts, the mother was confirmed dead by a medical doctor, and her body was transported to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for an autopsy. CP Abdullahi, after visiting Dutse General Hospital to monitor the daughter’s condition, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse, to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Commissioner assured that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted accordingly, emphasizing the commitment to unraveling the cause of the killing and apprehending the perpetrators.
