One of the Gubernatorial Election Aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress for the upcoming Gubernatorial Election in Edo State, Gideon Ikhine, has stated that for equity and fairness, it is proper for Edo Central to produce the next governor of the state.
Gideon Ikhine made this statement during an interview on Arise Television. During the interview, Gideon Ikhine said, “in the APC, we do not believe in zoning, but in the Constitution, there is a space for rotation. Zoning and rotation is good and if you recall.
If you recall, Edo South has done 16 years. Chief Lucky Igbinedion was there for eight years and now you have Obaseki who is doing another eight years making it 16 years from Edo South.”
“Edo North had the leader of our party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who was there for eight years. So, if you want to look at equity, ordinarily you will say it should go to Edo Central.”
