BREAKING: Initially it was just Wigwe that was mentioned, 30 minutes later I was told Bimbo was on the flight

The principle managing partner of George Etomi and Partners, George Etomi, has revealed that he was first informed that Herbert Wigwe, the former CEO of Access Bank, had perished in a terrible helicopter crash. But he added that he found out around 30 minutes later by phone that Bimbo Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, was also aboard the unfortunate flight.

In a video that Channels TV posted on YouTube, Etomi described his conversation with Ogunbanjo just a week prior to the disaster. He revealed Ogunbanjo’s vacation intentions and added that Ogunbanjo had apologized for missing his brother’s funeral (Etomi).

In Etomi’s words: “Initially it was just Wigwe that was mentioned, 30 minutes later, a very close friend of mine called me to say Bimbo was on the flight. I said how could that be? Because I had spoken to Bimbo just a week before, I was in Port Harcourt for the funeral of my younger brother and he had sent apologies for his inability to be there. He did say he was traveling and that when he came back, he would come to see me. I had no inkling that he was going to the US so hearing it in this manner was just a rude shock”.
