A coroner’s inquest has confirmed that Tabby Brown, a former girlfriend of Arsenal winger, Raheem Sterling, died of complications from the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure which she underwent in October 2023.
Tabby Brown, who became famous as a Playboy model, travelled to the Dominican Republic to enhance her appearance through liposuction and the BBL procedure at the age of 38.
Just days after returning to her south London home, she collapsed and sadly lost her life, with a subsequent inquest revealing the cause to be a “fat embolism,” a known complication of such surgeries.
Her mother, Mahasin, discovered Tabby Brown unresponsive on the floor on October 13.
Reports from the inquest revealed that she had two puncture wounds on her pelvis, indicating she had recently undergone surgery.
Esteemed cosmetic surgeon Oliver Harley explained the procedure she had received, emphasizing the serious nature of potential complications associated with BBLs, including fat embolism.
“The BBL is known to cause potential fat embolism and death, and Tabby died as a consequence”, the surgeon told the inquest.
Before her collapse, Tabby, who also dated former Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli, had experienced feelings of weakness, leading her family to suspect that something was amiss after her return from South America.
Coroner Julian Morris recorded a narrative verdict, underscoring that her otherwise healthy lifestyle made this outcome particularly tragic.
In tribute to Tabby, her family reflected on her remarkable life, celebrating her achievements and the joy she brought to many. They expressed their sorrow at her untimely passing while cherishing the memories they shared, stating, “Tabby had a big laugh, smile, and a personality that charmed many and matched her beauty.”
This sad incident highlights the importance of understanding the risks associated with cosmetic procedures like Brazilian butt-lifts, which, despite their popularity, can entail serious complications such as fat embolism, infections, and other risks.
Note that Tabby Brown not only had a successful modelling career featuring in renowned publications like Cosmopolitan and Elle but also appearances in reality television and music videos.
