BREAKING: It seems Tinubu is finding it difficult to do the magic he did in Lagos when he was governor -MURIC

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), an Islamic rights organization, has stated that President Tinubu seems to be struggling to replicate the economic successes he achieved as a two-term governor in Lagos on a national scale.

In an interview with The Sun, the Executive Director of the Organization, Prof. Ishaq Akintola expressed disappointment with the election outcome, aligning with the stance of the Sharia council. He said the anticipated economic benefits, especially in terms of the cost and standard of living have failed to materialize, leading to collective dissatisfaction.

In Akintola’s words: “The [Sharia] council was correct in its position on the outcome of the 2023 presidential election. It was a disappointment for us in the Muslim community. This is because the Muslim/Muslim ticket has not produced the expected outcome for us, particularly as regards the strength of the economy vis-a-vis the cost and standard of living. It seems President Tinubu is finding it difficult to do the kind of magic he did in Lagos when he was a two-term governor. The economy is in free fall”
