BREAKING: Join APC to boost our expected victory in Rivers come 2027

Yusuf Ata, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, has suggested that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), consider joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement marking Wike’s 57th birthday, Ata hailed Wike’s political vision and leadership skills, “especially his notable achievements since taking office as FCT Minister in August 2023.”

Ata stated that Wike’s experience could contribute significantly to APC’s expected victory in Rivers State in the 2027 elections.

He also commended Wike’s efforts in revitalizing Abuja, confronting real estate challenges, and building a more efficient civil service.

Part of the statement read: “Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata expressed profound delight and admiration for the remarkable leadership, unwavering determination, and exceptional ‘can-do’ attitude that Barr. Wike has exhibited since assuming office as the Minister of the FCT in August 2023.

These qualities, which have been the hallmark of Barr. Wike’s illustrious political career, have revitalized the Federal Capital Territory, restoring its glory and aligning it with the vision of a world-class capital city.

“Upon taking office, Barr. Wike tackled the challenges plaguing the FCT with the same vigour and commitment that characterized his tenure as Governor of Rivers State, where he earned accolades as one of Nigeria’s best-performing governors.

“Roads and bridges that had been long abandoned were swiftly constructed and completed under his watch, facilitating development and expansion across the capital. His efforts in reclaiming the Abuja master plan, which had been neglected by previous administrations, have brought a renewed sense of order and purpose to the city.

“Barr. Wike’s fearless confrontation of entrenched interests in the FCT’s real estate sector deserves particular commendation. By taking on land grabbers and speculators who had made real estate a daunting endeavor for many Nigerians, he has instilled discipline and accountability into the system.

“Despite the opposition and potential backlash from powerful groups, Barr. Wike has remained steadfast, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to fairness and the rule of law. This has transformed the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) into a high-performing agency, shedding its previous inefficiencies.

“Another milestone in Barr. Wike’s tenure is the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission. This development has been widely celebrated, as it offers FCDA staff a structured career progression and positions the civil service as an attractive path for growth and excellence. It is a testament to Barr. Wike’s foresight and commitment to building robust institutions that serve the public good.”
